Consent and product feeds
Reliable tracking has to be responsible tracking. Alongside forwarding conversions, CIQRA’s marketing tools cover two things that make that measurement trustworthy and useful: respecting shopper consent, and keeping your catalogue in sync with ad channels through product feeds.
Consent and privacy
Section titled “Consent and privacy”Server-side tracking is powerful, which is exactly why it has to honour the choices your shoppers make. When someone declines tracking or limits how their data is used, those preferences should carry through to what CIQRA forwards to your ad platforms — not just to the pixels running in their browser.
Handling consent well matters for a few reasons:
- Legal obligations. Privacy regimes such as the GDPR require a lawful basis for processing shopper data, including data sent to advertising platforms.
- Platform requirements. Ad networks increasingly expect a consent signal alongside the conversions you send, so they can process the data appropriately.
- Trust. Shoppers who see their choices respected are more comfortable buying from you.
The goal is straightforward: the conversions CIQRA forwards should reflect the consent a shopper has given, so your measurement is both accurate and compliant.
Product feeds
Section titled “Product feeds”A product feed is a structured, always-current export of your catalogue — product titles, prices, images, availability, and identifiers — formatted for a marketing channel to read. It’s what powers shopping ads and catalogue-based campaigns.
Feeds matter because these campaigns are only as good as the data behind them:
- Shopping and catalogue ads pull directly from your feed, so an accurate feed means accurate listings.
- Price and stock stay honest. When your catalogue changes, the feed reflects it, so shoppers don’t click through to a sold-out item or the wrong price.
- Dynamic retargeting relies on the platform recognising the exact products a shopper viewed — which only works if those products are in the feed.
Kept in sync, a product feed makes sure the items you advertise match the items you’re actually selling, right down to price and availability.
How this fits together
Section titled “How this fits together”Server-side tracking tells your ad platforms what converted. Product feeds tell them what you sell. Consent handling makes sure both happen in line with shopper choices. Together they’re what turns reliable measurement into marketing you can trust — see Why server-side tracking for the measurement foundation the rest builds on.
