Tax isn't applied or is wrong

Tax on CIQRA comes from two things working together: the tax class assigned to a product, and the rates that class holds for each region. When tax is missing or wrong, one of those two is almost always the cause.

  • Does the product have a tax class set? If a product’s tax class is unset, there’s nothing to tell CIQRA how to tax it, so no tax is applied. Confirm the product is assigned to the right class — see Taxes — classes and rates.
  • Is there a rate for the shopper’s region? A tax class needs a rate that matches the customer’s country or region. If no rate covers their region, no tax is charged there. Check that the class has a rate for the places you sell to.
  • Is a more specific rate overriding a general one? A kind-specific rate (for example, digital-only) wins over an “any product” rate for the same country. If an amount looks off, check whether a more specific rate is applying instead of the general one.
