Duplicate a product

When a new product is close to one you already sell — same shape, different color or size run — it’s faster to copy the original than to rebuild it. CIQRA can duplicate a product for you as a starting point.

Duplicate from the list

In the Products list, each row ends with a ⋯ (more actions) button. Open it and choose Duplicate. CIQRA makes a copy of the product and adds it to your catalog as a draft, so it won’t appear on your storefront until you’re ready.

Note

The row menu also holds the per-product Edit, status (activate / set to draft), Archive, and Delete actions. The exact menu isn’t shown expanded in this screenshot, so follow the labels in your admin — the Duplicate item is the one that makes a copy.

Finish the copy

The duplicate lands as a Draft, which is exactly where you want to start:

1. Open the new draft from the list.
2. Change the name so it’s clearly the new product, and adjust the slug (or clear it to auto-generate a fresh one from the new name).
3. Update variants, price, media, and description for what’s actually different.
4. When it’s ready, set it to Active — see Publish, schedule, and status.

Tip

Duplicating is ideal for a product family: build one template product with the right options, tax class, and category, then duplicate it for each new item and change only what differs. It’s often quicker than adding each product from scratch.

Caution

A duplicate is a genuinely separate product — editing the copy never changes the original, and each keeps its own stock and SKUs. Give the copy its own SKUs on its variants so inventory and orders stay unambiguous.
