Themes
A theme is what gives your storefront its look — layout, typography, colour and the arrangement of the pages shoppers browse. This overview is an honest account of how theming works on CIQRA today, so you know what to expect.
Theming is file-based today
Section titled “Theming is file-based today”Storefront theming on CIQRA is currently file-based. A theme is defined in theme files rather than through a point-and-click editor inside the admin. Visual changes to the storefront are made at the theme-file level.
What this means in practice
Section titled “What this means in practice”- The storefront still comes fully built. Every shopper-facing surface — product and collection pages, cart, checkout, search, account pages, content and blog — is rendered for you. Theming controls how those surfaces look, not whether they exist.
- Look-and-feel changes happen in the theme files. Because there’s no visual editor, changing the storefront’s design today means working at the theme-file level rather than toggling settings in the admin.
- Your content and catalog are separate from the theme. The products, pages, posts and menus you manage in the admin flow into whatever theme is in place, so your day-to-day store management isn’t affected by how theming is edited.
What you can shape from the admin
Section titled “What you can shape from the admin”Even without a visual theme editor, a lot of what shoppers see is driven by content you control in the admin:
- Navigation — your header and footer menus are built in the admin. See Build navigation menus.
- Content pages and blog — the pages and posts your storefront displays are authored in Content.
- Products and collections — how your catalog is grouped and presented starts with how you organise it.
